Getting Started in Lightroom 3 – Part 2: Advanced Image Editing, Custom Printer Profiles and Printing
Getting Started in Lightroom 3 – Part 2: Advanced Image Editing, Custom Printer Profiles and Printing from X-Rite Photo on Vimeo.
In this follow-up to our part I session, we’ll pick up where we left off and get into the details of powerful yet easy image editing in Lightroom 3. Covering both global and localized image adjustments we’ll go over each of the Develop module panels and show how they each can be used effectively.
While many of the adjustments are clear to understand, the details of many of the sliders and buttons can be more effectively used with a bit more explanation! You might be surprised to see how many fine image edits you can perform without having to go into Photoshop. However, Lightroom 3 has some great new links directly into Photoshop that make some complex tasks much easier.
Once we have our images looking great, we’ll prepare Lightroom 3 for printing, both on a desktop printer and when sending out to a lab. Using the X-Rite ColorMunki, we’ll create a custom paper profile for our printer to ensure the most accurate color match when we print. We’ll see how to add printer profiles into Lightroom and how to apply them to our print jobs. This will eliminate many printing headaches, wasted supplies and wasted time.
Join us as we continue to take the mystery out of Lightroom 3 and make it one of your favorite applications!
